Clinton Township is one of the most densely populated towns in Michigan. It is part of the Macomb County and it has a population of nearly 100,000 people. It has a variety of tourist sites for people who tend to visit the township, but is not known for its tourist locations.

It was first named the Huron Township on August 12, 1818, after a river close to the township. This name soon changed due to a confusion stemming from another river Huron on the side of Detroit; the township changed its name to DeWitt Clinton on July 17, 1824, named after a famous New York Governor at the time.

The township has a total surface area of 28.2 square miles, of which 0.04 square miles is water. The Clinton River, after which the township is named, spreads further into three branches into the township. While there are more white Americans present in the township, it is still quite diverse and does not lean too much to the right or left, and considers to be quite neutral.


Clinton Township - Culture

The culture in Clinton Township is very diverse as compared to other cities in Michigan. The most prominent culture that thrives in the Clinton Township is the Italian American culture. The Italian American Culture Society is also present in Clinton Township. Previously in Warren, the center eventually moved to Clinton Township in 2004.

The total population of Clinton Township is about 99,889 people, with the median age of not more than 42. However, the town does have a rather high rate of unemployment, which is about 6.6%, whereas the median unemployment rate in the country is 4.0%. Household income is quite good with an estimated median income of $47,706.

Unlike most townships, the Clinton Township has wide socioeconomic diversity, with middle class communities making up a large chunk of the town. The middle class communities give a very welcoming and homey feel to any new comers, but the town is also home to a variety of different high class locals and communities, where some very famous actors and singers reside.

Not only is Clinton Township an incredibly densely populated city, but it is also incredibly diverse. Although the majority is still white Americans at 82%, the second highest population is African American at 13% and Asians at 1.79%.
