Welcome to the city of Romeo!

Romeo is a small village present in the Macomb County in Michigan. Unlike other cities in the state of Michigan, Romeo has a lower population; however, it has an excellent median household income. It is very close to Bruce Township and the Washington Township, and Armada Town is adjacent to the east.

Romeo Village was initially named the Indian Village as the first people to inhabit the settlement were the Chippewa Indians. By 1830, more people began to settle in the village, and the residents of the village named it Hoaxie, after a person who owned one of the first inns in the village. By 1839, the Hoxie settlement became incorporated, and the village finally got the name Romeo.

One of the most famous attractions of Romeo, other than its very on the nose name, is the city’s appreciation for the Juliette community in Georgia. The post office in Romeo and Georgia produce similar and joint postmarks on February 14th every year.

This tradition started in 1994 and has gone on till this day. Another attraction of Romeo is the Tillson Street, and their many Halloween attractions. The Halloween decorations of Tillson Street are in many ways a community event that various people indulge in.

The total number of residents in Romeo is a little over 3500, with the largest racial demographic being Whites (91.9%) and the second largest being Hispanic or Latino (5.7%). Other ethnicities include African Americans (3.8%), Asians (0.5%), and Native Americans (0.2%). The median age of the population of Romeo is quite old, with 42 years. While the unemployment rate in the village is 5.6%, the median household income is one of the best in the state, at a little over $50,000.
